Shia Muslims mark Ashura 2015
Millions of Shia muslims across Iran as well as elsewhere in the world commemorate the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson and third Shia Imam on the day of Ashura.
The yellow head band contained an Arabic sentence means: “We are all your Abbas, O’ Zeinab!”
Ashura is an Islamic epic
“Imam Hussain who was the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, created an Islamic epic in Ashura not the shiite one.
The enemy of Imam Hussain was Yazid ibn Mu’awiyah who violently killed the people of Medina and created the Harrah Massacare after what he did to Imam Hussain and his companions in Karbala. In other words, Yazid Massacred the people who had not gone with Imam hussain to Karbala and as the majority of these people had not accepted Imam ALi ibn Abi Taleb as the first succeeder of the Prophet Muhammad so actually they were Sunni.
Yazid Also did not believe in prophetness and revelation as he said it openly:“Banu Hashim (means the Prophet and his descendant) has played a game to obtain temporal power. The fact is that neither an angel came to them nor any revelation descended.”[1]
So how can a sage and wise Sunni nominate Yazid as Muslim?! …”
*The Professor Alireza Panahian, an Iranian cleric who teaches at the universities and Howzah, has given speeche every night in the the first ten nights of Muharram in the university of Imam Sadiq (PBUH) in Tehran and I tried to translate some of his saying for anyone who wants to know more.
[1] What Yazid said in Arabic is: ” لَعِبَتْ هَاشِمُ بِالْمُلْکِ فَلا خَبَرٌ جَاءَ وَ لَا وَحْیٌ نَزَل”

The day of Ashura falls on the 10th of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calender.
Every year, in the day of Ashura, plenty of people dressed in black, take to street to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein and his companions.

A video from Ashura
The month of Muharram and the day of Ashura is coming in less than a week.
I found a video clip trying to show what happened to Imam hussain and his family in the day of Ashura in Karbala. In this clip, you will see some scenes of an Iranian serial titled “Mokhtar Nameh”.
