Day of Ashura 2018 | photos of a mourning procession in Iran
Day of Ashura is not a day of celebration nor a day of self-mutilation. Day of Ashura for Shia Muslim people and other Imam Hussain’s lovers is the day of grief and deep sorrow. people around the world dressed in black commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain, the prophet Muhammad’s grandson on the day of Ashura.
On the day of Ashura, mourning processions and ceremonies for Imam Hussain are held all over the world as well as all the cities of Iran. One of the greatest mourning procession is the mourning procession of The Imam Sadiq University which is held annually in north of Tehran, the capital city in Iran.
The following images are taken on the day of Ashura in 2018.
Ashura 2018 | Photos of International Day of Ali Asghar
The smallest martyr of Karbala was Imam Hussain’s six-month-old son, Hazrat Ali Asghar (PBUH), who was killed with a three-branched arrow on the day of Ashura while he was on the hands of Imam Hussain (PBUH).
Therefore, each year an special great ceremony is held all over the wold on The International day of Ali Asghar (or global day of Ali Asghar) to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali Asghar (PBUH).
These special ceremonies are conducted on the first Friday of Muharram in all the cities of Iran or on the first Sunday in other countries and a huge number of mothers with their babies join in although the famous broadcasting web sites such as BBC, huffingtonpost, independent and so on totally ignore theses great annually ceremonies!
Mothers usually dress their babies by green color to memorize Hazrat Ali Asghar (PBUH). The name of Hazrat Ali Asghar (PBUH) is also written on the black headband.
Why we never see these photos on the western media but we always see lots of the bloody photos of self-flagellation under the keyword of Ashura ?
Why they try to attribute these bloody self-flagellation performed by some minority of people to Shia Muslim people while self-flagellation is forbidden in Islam?
