Day of Ashura : Christian people in the holy shrine of Imam Hussain
Imam Hussain is not only belonged to Shia Muslim people but also people from different religions such as christian people admire Imam Hussain and cry for him when they heard the story of Ashura.

Imam Hussain was the prophet Muhammad’s grandson who was killed on the day of Ashura at Karbala. He and all 72 of his men including his six-old-son were killed and beheaded one by one and all of their women and children were captured on Ashura day. Thus, each year people worldwide commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain and mourn for him on Ashura and Arbaeen.
Arbaeen is the 40th day following Ashura. It’s a day in which the world’s biggest peaceful gathering was held annually at Karbala by people from many different countries, with different languages. All nations flock to Karbala to mourn for Imam Hussain’s martyrdom and make a pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Imam Hussain on Arbaeen. Some Imam Hussain’s lovers walk for 80 kilometers from Najaf to Karbala and some provide free food, drink and accommodation for them on this way.

Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:30)
And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, (Revelation 5:9)

Day of Ashura in 2017 was marked by Muslim people in London, UK.
Muslim people in London, had some banners and placards against the ISIS or ISIL terrorist group during Ashura procession.
ISIS will lose and Love will win!
90% of ISIS victims have been Muslim.
Muslim girls and women also participated in Ashura procession to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain, the prophet Muhammad’s grandson on the day of Ashura in London in 2017.
Shia Muslim dressed in black took part in the Ashura procession and mourned for the martyrdom of Imam Hussain in peace. they did not self-flagellate themselves as some western media try to show it to the world.

Day of Ashura 2017 in Denmark
Day of Ashura in 2017 was marked by Muslim people and Imam Hussain’s lovers in Copenhagen, Denmark. Shia youth distributed some tracts among people in the streets during the Ashura procession and explained the event of Ashura for them.
Shia Muslim people and other Imam Hussain’s lovers dressed in black , commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain, the prophet Muhammad’s grandson and all 72 of his companions on the day of Ashura by participating in the Ashura procession.
Day of Ashura was the day Imam Hussain scarified what he had to save Islam from utter distortions. Paying allegiance to Yazid (the tyrant of his time) was the only way for Imam Hussain to survive but Imam hussain still did not approve the Yazid’s government which was not based on the Islamic rules. Thus Yazid’s army surrounded the prophet Muhammad’s son and his companions and family on the way toward Iraq in the land of Karbala . Yazid’s army killed the men all and beheaded one by one. then all the women and children of the prophet Muhammad were captured.
Imam Hussain rose up against the tyranny of his time to reform the Islamic community of the prophet Muhammad and to promote virtue and to prevent vice as he stated in his will. Read more here

Day of Ashura : A part of Imam Hussain’s Will
Imam Hussain (PBUH) was the prophet Muhammad’s grandson who was martyred on the day of Ashura in Karbala. He left a will before departing from the city of Medina and travelling toward Iraq. You will see A part of Imam Hussain’s will to his brother Muhammad-e-Hanafiya in the following image in three languages;
“I did not rise up for the cause of wickedness, amusement, corruption or oppression, but I rose up to reform the Muslim community of my grandfather [Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)]. I want to promote virtue and prevent vice.”

Day of Ashura 2017 : Nazri drinks distributed by Imam Hussain’s lovers among people
Nazri food and drinks are free food and drinks which are distributed among the mourners of Imam Hussain and all other people during the month of Muharram and especially on the day of Ashura.
Shia Muslims do not fast on Ashura. Thus, Some Shia Muslims prepare and hold up some stations on public places on the day of Ashura to distribute Nazri food and drinks among others for free. They do it for the happiness of God and to show their love toward Imam Hussain (PBUH) who was martyred on Ashura day while he was thirsty.
The following photos were sent to us from a group of shia Iranian young Muslims who held up a station on the way towards the holy shrine of Lady Masumah (PBUH) in Qom, Iran to offer chocolate milk and lemonade to the mourners and other people during the days of Tasua and Ashura.
Such stations are not related to any organizations or governments and they only charged by the people who love Imam Hussain.
