Now, for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Baqir (PBUH), I prepared an interesting quote by him about Imam Hussain’s pilgrimage. A more interesting point is that what exactly the pilgrimage of imam Hussain is. Why Shia Imams have commanded their followers to pilgrim the holy shrine of Imam Hussain?

Imam Baqir (PBUH):

Command our Shia (our followers) to pilgrim the holy shrine of Imam Hussain (PBUH) because Imam Hussain’s pilgrimage increases the Rizq (provision) and extends the lifetime and takes the wickedness away and Imam Hussain’s pilgrimage is a duty for all the believers who have accepted him as a Imam.

قال الباقر علیه السلام: مُروا شیعَتَنا بِزیارَةِ قَبرِ الحُسَینِ علیه السلام فَاِنَّ اِتْیانَهُ یَزیدُ فِی الرِّزْقِوَ یَمُدُّ فِی الْعُمْرِ وَ یَدْفَعُ مَرافِعَ السُّوءِ و اِتیانُهُ مُفْتَرَضٌ عَلی کُلِّ مُؤمِنٍ یَقِرُّ لِلحُسَینِ بِالإِمامَةِ مِنَ اللّهِ.

امام محمد باقر علیه السلام:

شیعیان ما را به زیارت قبر حسین علیه السلام فرمان دهید؛ زیرا زیارت آن حضرت،روزی را زیاد و عمر را طولانی و بدی ها را دور می سازد و رفتن به زیارتش بر هر مؤمنی که امامت امام حسین علیه السلام را پذیرفته است، واجب است.
